501 – A Pageant of the Ancient School of Ermysted
In December 1992, to mark the school’s Quincentenary, the Ermysted’s Dramatic Society put on “501″ – A Pageant of the Ancient School of Ermysted.
Written and directed by David Clough, the production featured scores of boys in acting roles and many more being part of the choir, band, orchestra and stage crew.
On this page you can not only watch the video recording of “501″ and see the Programme – but you can also read a copy of the draft script, and see the full list of cast and participants as reported in the Chronicles. You can also read a review of the production that was printed in the Craven Herald, and a report from behind the scenes that was written for the Chronicles by Baz Jones (1991-98) at the time.
At the end of the video there is a short speech by David Clough who appears on stage along with Wilbur Paley and the sadly-missed Chris Davies and Sheila Muhlemann.
