Old Boys v School cricket match 2019
9th July 2019
After last year's success for the Old Boys XI, 2019 saw another great match between the School and the Old Boys at Bolton Abbey Cricket Club on Friday 5th July 2019. Kevin Owens put in an outstanding performance for the Old Boys with 104 not out as they reached a total of 176 in their innings. The school raced to an 8 wicket victory though, scoring 177-2, with Hodge making 85 not out and Holderness finishing on 62 not out.

This weekend the country marks the centenary of the Armistice in 1918, which brought an end to the First World War. We have made a short video to commemorate the Old Boys and Masters of Ermysted's who have given their lives in the service of their country. We particularly focus on some of the former pupils of our school who fought in the Great War 1914-18.Golf review 2018

It was a great season of golf for our Old Boys in 2018!
Chris Windle picked up the Hitchin Trophy in May, while the Old Boys went on to record victories against both Old Giggleswickians and the EGS team.

Following a series of defeats in recent years, we can report that our Old Boys XI finally won a match of cricket against the school team this year. Under management of James Tiffany, the Old Boys recorded a 23 run victory at Bolton Abbey Cricket Club on Friday 22nd June 2018. See the full scorecard from the match below.

It is with deep sadness that we have to report the tragic death of Matthew Stringer, who was at Ermysted's 2000-2006. He was aged just 26 and passed away on 11th April after being hit by a train near South Elmsall in West Yorkshire.

Tributes have been paid to David Jenkinson, who died on 4th April 2014 aged 89. He was a pupil at Ermysted's and then a member of staff from 1953 to 1989.

It is with regret that the Old Boys’ Society informs its members of the death on 2nd April 2014 of Mr Wally Evans. Wally taught Physics and PE at the school between 1950 and 1989 and was also Deputy Head from 1967 until 1989.
